Hi the Glenmarnock Wheelers website can be found at http://www.glenmarnockwheelers.co.uk. We will be starting our regular night runs in East kilbride Thursday 1st October.

    Time: 7pm

Meeting Point: KFC 11 Queensway, East Kilbride, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, G74 5NY

Circuit: East Kilbride 5.5mls flat circuit with good lighting (maybe 3-4 times round)

We will look after you as we do have 2 members of the club that are trained British cycling Skyride Leaders and they will be using the skills they have acquired on the skyride during our club runs. Please be aware this is a club run and not a Skyride

    We will have 2 groups

Group 1: Easy group for new riders rider not as fit as the fast guys

Group 2: Fast group for fitter more experienced rider.

There are a few fixie fanatics and all riders are welcome either on your fixed our road bike.

How many riders do you usually get for these rides? Might nip down next Thursday & give it a look!

Oh & any minimum requirements for lights? Currently got a couple of Knog Frogs with supplementary helmet lights!

I'd suggest something meatier than knog frogs on the front. At least a couple of beetles or one of the £20-30 cateye offerings.

the roads are pretty well lit. Use lights that you would feel comfortable commuting with. I too would suggest some Cateyes.

    Cateye
    Cateye
EL120/TL170 - Lightset might be a good buy

    I use Cateye
TL-LD170 rear and the Cateye EL410 Compact Opticube in glasgow Traffic. Both great little bright lights.

There are usually about ten of us. You'll enjoy it, it's a light hearted by healthy evening. The road surfaces are pretty good too.

Great time last night, really glad I came along. Great wee group and really good circuits.
