    ithinkitsnice:

why would one direction on a circular route be faster?

because of the hills, the junctions, the one way system and the layout of the stations. Plus it's not a circle.

Mainly the hills in this case.

anti clockwise = A long decent stretching over half the course with a short steep finish.
clockwise = short fast steep decent to first station then flat or gradual uphill for the rest of it.

Weird, a different girl on a different single-speed red shopper, on Buchanan street. This bike was older looking, and had 'shopper' handily written on it.

Nice oldish bright blue (but geared) Bob Jackson in town.

If it was a blue scot it wasn't mine - i've been riding the red and white briton. That was outside tapa for a bit today, though. I *did* see a blue fixed locked to the railings there but i didn't get a close look.

Oh, and not a fixed, but a proper roadie type on a cervelo - it was only a short stretch, along langside avenue, but I overtook him just before turning off and he laughed in a sort of wry way. I laughed back, it was cool. He could have probably killed me over a longer stretch but then I was at my road, so WIN :)

foxy courier-ness eh. he-llo. how you doin? and yes, we all love our mums very much, is that such a crime ;)

P-series are. S-series are aero road bikes and the R-series are lightweight climbing bikes. I'd love to build a fixed gear S1.

I'd also love a high-end fixed conversion. I don't know if he still has it, but Scott-not-Scott from the London forum had a Storck (Fascenario, I think) conversion.

I always liked the idea of using Record Ergo levers and a single ringed Record carbon chainset.
