Think theres been a rise in fixed spottings as the lycra crew put the geared bikes away for the winter and bring out the hacks, i'v seen a couple of fixed riders around my neighbourhood lately that looked a bit lycra crewish.
Spotted yesterday:
1. Charge Plug with orange rims descending West Nile Street circa 9:30am
2. Rizla bike, city centre, circa 3:00pm
3. Stripped down orange/brown unbranded fixed-gear with various stickers being wheeled away from the Don Cab gig at Stereo (I had to dive off for my bike at Central Station so didn't speak to the guy) circa 11:00pm
P.S. Don Cab ruled.
monday lunch time approx 12:30 on the squinty bridge. fixie rider with yellow tyres, matching yellow courier bag, blue bandana and shades having technical issues, rider was tinkering with something(chain or cranks) berfore jumping back on and zooming off.
This morning... Bob Jackson and rider outside Thomas Cook on Gordon Street... You and the bike going on holiday fella..?
A rare east end sighting this morning! On Crownpoint Road, down Bridgeton way, at about 8:30am: a guy on a Charge Plug. Looked like a potential courier.
we need to get all their full names, addresses and occupations then leak the database to the media
Spotted Mechanical_Vandal (or someone with the same Tattoo) this morning strolling to work along Gordon Street.
Today at 5:45pm - Eglinton Street outisde the star bar - red Mercian with messenger bag heading out of town.

Some guy on a brand new Charge Plug Freestyler on Alexandra Parade.
If you are on this board, sorry for laughing at your bike but it is bauffing.

Perhaps the same guy? Though I'm not at all sure the one I saw was a Freestyler. So maybe two east end plugs knocking about...
P.S. does 'bauffing' mean good?

Red lights don't apply to cyclists rusty.... new law that came in about a month ago.
Cuppa T:Red lights don't apply to cyclists rusty.... new law that came in about a month ago.
this is true - they've been trialling it in london since the mid seventies and it's been working fine. nobody's told the motorists though...........

I did have to swerve so as not to be hit by a car at the next set of lights which I went through on red. That's 1 of the 2 red lights out of 6 that I wait for on my morning commute.

that is def a junction to wait at, the speed the cars come from the right at that one is unreal sometimes. there would only be one winner.
where actually is that junction?
I saw two guys around 1240 today. Not together mind.
First was on Gibson Stret passing GEAR and had - oh dear, this is appalling memory - eh, a darkish coloured bike, clips and straps with white trainers and a cap. Maybe no cap. Looked about 5'8
Second had quite a lot of blonde hair and seemed quite wee and was turning off Woodlands Road where the Lobbie Dosser statue is (across fromThe Halt) with both his trooser legs rollled up miles.[No offence but I'm 6' 4" so most folk seem 'wee'!]
Sorry for the scant detail.
p.s.

...that was me, checking the chain for mice.
Oh and I saw a couple of guys standing outside entrance to Kelvingrove Park (at Big Slope side) last Wednesday about 1645 or so. One had a bike with only the wan gear so gave them a wee nod just as my sprocket inexplicably slipped forawrd. Grrr.
I saw a couple of guys on Cumbernauld Road/Edinburgh Road late yesterday afternoon, but it was dark and bloody cold so I didn't get a chance to see anything more than the single gear aspect. Anyone else out this East End way?

i will shout mcduck the next time i see you round those parts I live just round the corner so always se my spots on govan road or the squinty bridge), i was on foot and so no bike and was looking very officey/hung over/4hours late for work.
always see a woman on white ss i think. red and black grips, 2 brakes and what looks like a very slack chain in or around the squinty bridge at about 8.40ish in the am on my way to work.
also quite often see a big guy riding a dark framed fixie with bright green rims down that way. think he as added bar ends the last time i saw him on the bike...
These days I've been seeing a guy on a black fixed bike+track bars going up Alexandra parade about 7:40 every morning. Usually quite smartly dressed and with a courier bag.
Spotted opposite somerfield on byres road.
A flying scot conversion.

I like the use of pictures.
i know this aint the theme of the convo but thats a real nice rare exspensive bike cos of itr bein a scot and the lock is crap
to your casual ned, it's just an old crap bike. i'm hoping the criminals don't ever get clued up like they seem to be in london.
im back in Glasgow, spot me yeah
they aint 2 far behind guy came into the shop missing a front hydraulic brake, guy took it off without any1 sayin anything, thats 75 bucks for a new 1 and the other thing they do is bend ur wheels so u leave ur bike then they steal it
Glad to see the Scot has some brakes on it now, used to see it kicking about with no brakes and flat pedals.
flat pedals? pritty dangerous if it had no brakes
There is a Claud Butler conversion kicking about with flat pedal, fixed and a brake only on the rear.
On Thursday morning, an old white Malvern Star conversion, parked up at Bridgeton Health Centre (had stickers from Common Wheel).

im commuting every so often from baillieston into town along edinburgh rd on a black raleigh ss conversion.
Hi jake2, welcome to the forums. I'll keep an eye out for you, as that's my regular stomping ground. Look out for a worse-for-wear blue/white Dawes ss conversion, with my khaki Chrome courier bag being my other possible identifying feature.
Hey thanks, yeah i'll keep a look out. you shall probably notice my hat before me usually catch me wearing a green cap.
Spotted: Antisocial bastart riding up the A77/Kilmarnock/Ayr road on a dark bike.
Seen you a few times now and always try to give you a wee nod/smile as you're riding a presumably fixed but at least singlespeed but never get anything back.
Maybe you're too good to acknowledge a freewheeler, who knows.
That sounds like me
Thankfully, I'm no where near there at the moment!
Nah i woulda recognised you johnny

and again today picking his way through the peds on buchanan street.
The police were out in numbers this afternoon on Buchanan Street on my way home. They had one guy on a mountain bike cornered against a wall having a go at him for riding down the street, he was giving them cheek back pretending he didn't know you ain't meant to ride down there.
Just up from there two others were confiscating some underagers fags, idiot answered his phone while they were talking to him which got that lifted off him too.
