For Sale: Complete bike

Time to sell the yellow peril, money going towards finishing my BJ.

    image
    Components
Iceni Blank track frame, 56cm c-t. Fitted with Cane Creek S2 headset and Miche BB
Charge Knife titanium saddle on FSA seatpost with Token clamp.
Deda Pista bars with Truvative Hussefelt stem (stem isn't ideal but it's the only oversize one I have, can also supply risers for a bit extra)
Miche Primato Cranks (165mm) with 48t Goldtec Chainring and Shimano 520 SPDS
Mavic Open Sport Rims (32h) on Suzue ProMax hubs (These hubs are awesome!) With Conti GP4000S tyres.

Condition is overall good, scratches on top of the downtube and seatpost. The crank arms have had the anodizing worn off a bit, wheels are true, hubs run super smooth headset tyres and BB have very little ware. 500miles estimate.

Looking for something in the region of £375, done some calculations and this build would cost around £700 brand new components only, for comparison seeing as you can't check it vs OTP

    Cheers!

Yeah dude, the bars are nice cheers! unfortunately they are a bit deep for my short ass t-rex arms or I'd be keeping them for another project.

Gonna stick this on ebay in the new year if there's no interest. Spoze gumtree might be worth a shout!

paypal is a souless, insecure, impersonal threat to your bank account ? what you smokin this time

  • [quote][cite] affinity:[/cite]paypal is a souless, insecure, impersonal threat to your bank account ? what you smokin this time

My girlfriends account got hacked, had a bank account that wasn't hers added onto it and was used to set up lots of fake auctions on ebay, get money of punters which was then emptied into the account that wasn't hers. Paypal informed her of suspicious activity on her account which she confirmed was not her, paypal supposedly dealing with it. Next thing, paypal tell her she owes almost a grand because people she sold stuff to haven't received the goods and have claimed their money back.
Despite months of sending emails just to get automated responses and getting the police, trading standards and the financial ombudsman involved they wouldn't accept that the chargebacks were due to fraudulent activity even though it was them that notified her of the activity in the 1st place.
Her case was just about to be sold to a debt recovery agency ie bailiffs when i started writing her emails in a somewhat more forceful tone and they finally dropped it.
Trading Standards said that there are literally hundreds of cases like hers every week and most people get so stressed out, feel so threatened, can't get a decent response that they just end up paying whatever paypal says they owe.
There's a reason that they operate from outwith the EU and there was a few points of my girlfriends case which suggested Paypal were withholding information, ie you normally get an email confirmation of any transactions into or out of your paypal account, there were no emails from paypal regarding 50 or so transactions where people were paying money into her account and about 10 transactions withdrawing money. Paypal supposedly could not find the account number or sort code or what bank the account was with for the account that was added by the fraudsters.

I don't particularly trust paypal either.

Once they moved to Luxemburg and applied to become a bank (so, the could affect your credit rating) I set up a bank account specifically for paypal and removed my credit cards.

Now, If I want to use it, I transfer money to the bank account and then into paypal or pay with e-cheque and if I get any money through it it goes back the same way.

  • Johnny+CrashJohnny Crash February 17

This might be useful for future reference: 0208 610 0150

It'll get you through to the credit department at Paypal who can then transfer you to whichever department you require. It saves a lot of hassle as you can speak to a real person rather than go through the auto-response e-mail system.
