Seen as the number of people riding has increased, I wondered what everyone's commute is like.
I am currently trying to up my weekly commute to 3 out of 5 days, from Crow rd shopping centre to Strathclyde.
Additionally, after reading this, I wondered if a riding buddy might be good to encourage people to get back into riding. I know it would work for me :D

I commute from Pollokshields to Glasgow uni but I've recently been coming from Newlands (6 miles each way). This morning I had crashed at a friend's flat on Bank Street and so had a 1 minute commute by bike.
After too many years off the bike, I'm working up to the 19 mile commute from Bridge of Weir to the Gorbals. I should be doing it (one way per day at least) by the end of next week and hopefully both ways by mid Feb, weather permitting. I've been quite enjoying the work up to it over the last month or so....
Maryhill or Kelvindale to Gordon Street and back 5 days a week. I'll probably be moving at some point this year so I'll hopefully get a better distance in.

What route are you going to be taking? I'm from Bridge of Weir originally myself.
0.5 miles every single day. That's, like, almost a mile.
started commuting again in Jan, and after my crash that put me out of action for a few months.. i realised how nuts some parts of town is for rush hour commuting!!
drivers before 9am are so tired and arent concentrating, really need to keep wits about you!
2miles each way for me, its fun to race the bus to my work.
Glasgow Green to Ibrox each day. about 3.5 miles.
Tend to vary my route, sometimes along the clydeside and over the squinty bridge way, and sometimes along by the gorbals sports centre/paisley road. Either way, potholes are a nightmare at the moment! Not been out much since middle of December, just a few days.
Netherlee to City Centre (4.7miles)
did it every day last year...then packed it in just before Christmas due to old Stainless rims not braking in the rain...Today I have my new wheels and will be restarting the commute this week.

Out. Thru Houston, Georgetown Rd, down through Bishopton, Braehead, Govan Road to Kinning Park and the Gorbals.
Home. Paisley Road to Elderslie then down through Johnstone and the cycle track to Quarriers. Or a variation depending on how I'm feeling and what the light is like later in the year.

Its a fair journey there and back, kudos if you do it 3 days a week nevermind 5!
West end to Coatbridge, not fixed mind.
[quote][cite] islipaway:[/cite]! That's mighty, I get fed up driving to Coatbridge every day... Mind you it's utterly mind numbing on the motorway.
Yeah I hate the drive. At rush hour it's about the same time cycling vs. driving. To be honest the cycling gets pretty boring after a while also, although a day driving soon makes me see the light.

We'll see how it pans out. I've sorted a shower at work which will help but I need to drop my daughter off 2 mornings so that gives me an excuse to drive.
Good thing is it's fairly flat all the way once you get to Houston on the way out. I'm looking forward to the run, just not the knobs in cars.
Kelvingrove Park to West George Street.
Not very far, but doing it circa 6am a couple of times over the last fortnight has made it seem like more than enough.
[quote][cite] Crisdufy:[/cite]used to be partick/govan. They finished the 2 tunnels yet?
The Clyde tunnel?
