There's a book by that title and it is so true.

I spent a large part of my day today stripping a rear derailleur and a brake before giving them a real good cleaning (I'd left my road bike in my parents' damp garage since the start of December). I also cleaned the cassette which is something I have been wanting to do for a long time. It looks almost brand new now. A bit of tomorrow will be spent doing the other brake and front derailleur. Then I just need to get some new cables/outers and clean the wheels and bike before she's all shiny new again.

Hot tip: Don't leave your bike in a damp environment for 2 months.

Yeah, I noticed that afterwards when I searched. I just couldn't be bothered mentioning it.

Yeah. I hate the guy. He's too boring. I prefer just reading through the Park walkthroughs.

I've been having fun dialling in my dérailleurs so I have the best of fast shifts with as much of the cassette as possible with chain rub. Just about got there. I recommend Alligator iLinks. They are pretty amazing and your cables won't get dirty if you run the full length of clear outer. I need to give the chain and cassette a big clean before the weekend. I feel like going for a long geared ride.

The Bob needs a good clean as well at the moment. There seems to be some grit in the headset as well.

I'd be up for a long ride on a clean bike if my shiny new chain (KMC X10) arrives in time.

Will be interesting what you think of that chain and how it shifts. That and the DA chain are considered to be the best out there.

Long ride dependant on my parents not turning up at the weekend and the weather not being too wet. I just kinda want to find where my legs are at compared to last year.

That's the X10SL surely. This is the cheaper version.
