I don't know if anyone is following this but Team Sky won the Team Time Trial yesterday with Cervélo Test Team coming in second. Later on it was decided that CTT had cheated and they were given a one minute time penalty.
Also, it's interesting to see that none of the teams are using time trial bikes. I'm unsure if this is stipulated in the rules or if the teams all just happened to decide not to take time trial bikes to the race.

None of them are using TT bikes because it would be prohibitively expensive to send road and TT bikes+spares on a long haul flight for one TT stage on a short Tour. Same reason why there are no TT stages on the TDU.
The other Australian Tour at the end of the year has a TT stage but states it needs to be done on a normal road bike.

Team Sky looked like they did a good job - a full eight seconds in the lead. I haven't had a look yet but there should be a full review and videos on their website.

I think that was a deal done with Veruses for the TDU. There was no deal announced for Qatar however

The reason CTT were considered to have cheated was because one rider gave another a push.

Sky majorly fucked up today and lost all three jerseys. Pretty immense breakaway though. I watched the last 50km the chasing group just couldn't catch them.
