Hi all, I'm in a hunt for a new chainring (40 seems to be a bit small) and as I am very impatient, I'd rather buy in a shop in Glasgow rather than wait for one to come up on the bay and get it posted. And I actually need a sprocket, lock ring and spacers too.
So the questions are:
Is the price difference considerable (do I need to learn to be patient)?
Which shop would be more likely to provide me with acceptable but cheap material(on a tight budget) - Rusty suggested Wheelcraft, what about the ones in town?
Thanks in advance for your advices
Gear will probably have everything you need but they're unlikely to be the cheapest. It depends how much you want to be riding and how soon.
I can't wait though.... Are they really that much more?

Maybe, maybe not.
Go into the shop, choose what you need and, if you can afford it and it's a price you're prepared to pay, then go for it.

For me a few extra quid is worth it to have it ASAP, and you will be supporting the local bike shops (Gear gave us stuff for alleycat prizes so I am happy to spend a little extra since they are giving back to the bike community) and face to face advice is free!!

You're right, that's my thinking too. I will pop by Willy Bayne's in the morning on my way to work.
