Following the success of last years Glasgow Fixed-Gear & Single-Speed Easter Weekender we've decided to do it all again, but this time with more prizes. The events will happen over the Easter weekend from Friday 2nd April to Sunday 4th April. For all the events, the meeting place will be George Square.
If you have any questions or want to find a floor to crash on, post below.

I have a Son of Son cap it's very nice!
Hillclimb, maybe train out to Croy first to save those running on 40" gears spinning their legs off.
Whoosh! Nice one.
Amazing.
Hill climb tt meet polo gearing FTW!
I'll be taking the necessary tools to assist in the swapping of gears at the TT.
Tak ma doon TT, polo and then an alley cat- that's a brutal day of cycling.
Here is the TT. And here is the elevation profile:

Thats from Kilsyth isn't it?
I'm going to have to to do some recces on this.
Yes, from Kilsyth.
I was thinking about suggesting a hillclimb the other day. I was going to propose the Cult Brae.
Is it definitely going to be the Tak? The Cult Brae is a nice wee climb used by many a club for their club hillclimbs and it's a lot closer to Glasgow (and there's a pub not too far from the top). I don't mind doing the Tak it's just it'll be bit much before polo, time and fitness wise.
On second thoughts, I could drive out to Kilsyth, and then drive home and get the polo bike. Anyone want a lift to Kilsyth?
How far away is the Tak?
Anymore than a couple miles on my polo gear is a right cunt.
It's a long way away. Out beyond Kirkintilloch, if that means anything. Rusty's posted a bikely map just above which you can zoom out on to get the context.
Yeah i dont think i'd be bothering riding out for that.
it's 12.8 fairly flat miles out to the start of the tak.
I think it is a bit far out myself, i'm up for it but i wouldn't be polo gearing it.
anyone got a map of the Cult Brae for Rusty?
The Cult Brae is out at Strathblane/Blanefield.
What? We're playing bike polo ? I'll be in Sweden that week. Ugh!
Ok, spelling fail it's actualy the Cuilt Brae.

I thought Kilsyth was a lot further out of town than Strathblane but it's not, so it'll not make that much difference.
I can do the Friday & Saturday, but can't get Sunday off unfortunately. Sad face.
i'm up for it all but i'kll have to play it by ear with regards to work.
I'd be up for the alleycats race as long as i can afford to build wheels before then....
looks great! Busy time for me though, hopefully should be able to do the Loch Lomond ride.
This morning I received a 130BCD 48T polished chainring and a red 18T alloy cog from Velosolo for the prize fund. The chainring looks absolutely spectacular. The finish is very nice with only a few marks and it is 4mm which is very nice. I'm considering one myself now.
btw thanks to street view going country-wide you can now check out tak ma doon and cuilt brae in first person. neither look particularly easy!
Very cool.
anyone recognise the cyclist?
Whoever it is, they have just dropped this guy:

no he is in nearly every frame! must of thought there was some freaky shit going on behind him!
So...What you're saying is that camera trikes kill in the mountains, and I should definitely buy one before the hill climb TT?
No chance of me having to put a foot down.

Only in the winter when food is in short supply or if provoked
Now if I'm not on shift that day I'm currently stuck with 46/18, or 19. Anyone know of a cheap 130BCD chainring with magical hill climb properties? Also, out of interest does anyone know what the GI or ratio of the Gardner St. Hill climb winner was last year?

it was very tall but that's because it was points based on ratio not time trial based
hill climbs last year were just about getting up - no time limit - i won it with 52/18 but someone with a more sensible ratio would have gone a lot faster (and did, if i remember - i won because i had the higher ratio - and rabsda had one higher still but wasn't in it ;)
46/19 doesn't sound too bad to me.. if i find a 22t cog i'd be about the same.
you'll be knacked by the top whatever!
I did the hillclimb challenge on 41:18 I think. I was probably fastest up all the hills but came third because my gear was smaller than most (when I say most I mean everyone else).
Gutted i can't make this, possibly the sunday ride but doubtful.
Today I received a bunch of prizes from Knog:
2 T-shirts
4 frogs
2 beetles
1 skink
5 packs of stickers.
There are plenty lanterne rouges to go around.
anyone fancy a ride out to the tak ma doon tomorrow?
Make it Tuesday or Thursday and I'm up for it, but am unfortunately working otherwise.
Also, I'm out of the sprints on Friday I'm afraid (not that I was ever a contender in that one), but am definitely in for the alleycat on Saturday night, and am a maybe on the hill climb.
Still up for trying it this week, regardless, though.
rabsda:anyone fancy a ride out to the tak ma doon tomorrow?
I'm up for it.
I should be up for it as well
Or perhaps not. Woke up this afternoon with a cold, said fuck it and went out anyway. By the time I got to Maryhill I was coughing a lung out.
I've also heard there is still snow on the Tak, and given that its likely to snow this week there will likely still be some on the hill come Saturday

I think that means we get an extra 10% of epic points for doing it. All we need now is to do it in Rapha, brakeless, while filming it and we're well on our way to getting an upgrade in our class of epicness.
Ha. Aye. Doing it brakeless is more than doable, except coming back down again
Just incase the weather was putting anyone off I thought I'd post up the prizes so far. There are still prizes from Gear and Willy Bain to add to this lot.

Apologies for the shit photo.
That Chainring in manassive
It's just a 48T. It's 130BCD and i believe the finish is called 'Shiny as Fuck'.
Weird, maybe its just the design of it that makes it look huge.
