    Need some help!

I am not mechanically minded at all and heave never really touched a bike other than fitting bike bottles/adjusting bars/saddle,etc.

I was having some trouble with my chain/cog slipping whenever I tried to skid stop. One of the polo guys looked at it and said it was probably the lockring (James?), so I bought a new lockring and have just tried to put it on. How tight should it be? everytime it feels like it is about to get tight it slips and becomes loose again...?

Any help appreciated with the lockring/slipping diagnosis!

    Cheers

I took it all apart there after footy - lockring and cog and put it all back together again. Testing it in the car park it seems to be ok.

Just that every time the lockring seems to be tights, one more half a turn and it loosens off, though the hub and lockring don't seem to be threaded...?

Will try it out tomorrow properly and see what it is like

What hub and what lockring is it? You may be using an italian lockring on a british hub or vice versa.

if it's loosening off something is definitely stripped as you should be able to tighten the lockring super tight, I have even snapped them before from over tightening. crap ones anyway.

aye it shouldn't go tight to loose when you are trying to tighten it. There's some fucked threads somewhere here

Its a miche xpress wheel and a miche lockring i bought to replace the old one.

Looking at it outside in better light it does now look like the hub is slightly threaded!
