There's a lever and a button. The left shifter is: lever=up, button=down. The right shifter is lever=down, button=up. It's a fantastic way of shifting. When you need to respond to an attack (because we're all racers here) it's exceptionally easy to knock up the rear cassette a few gears.

    Weird how they are reversed.

When you say button I guess you are meaning the sticky outy thing on the inside of the shifters hood?

    euan:Weird how they are reversed.

Pushing the lever always moves the chain on to a larger cog. Pushing the button always releases some cable, moving the chain to a smaller cog. These processes just have a different effect on the gearing.

It's a resounding yay. What's more, they say you should run out and buy the Focus Izalco DI2 because once you subtract the price of the groupset you're getting the rest of the bike for about £800.

Could just sell off the frame. You'd probably get an alright amount of money for it. Maybe not as much as you'd want because of the cost of the Chris King headset.

It's the largest size they do, it's quite scratched up, the forks don't really match the frame. I could switch the headset out and sell the king seperately but to be honest I'm not sure it would be worth it. The frame is okish, Dunno if the dolan would be that much better

You make a few good points. Maybe best just to hold on to the Bianchi and wait for a nice frame to turn up.

I thought was going to go cheap but i think it'll still go for a pretty normal price. They're about £35 new so there's not much saving to be made unless it stays under £20. I'd say just get a new one off eBay. A new cassette and chain are the least you can treat your geared bike to.
