I'm thinking something short on major roads. Perhaps a blast around town and the west end. Come along, I'd love to see your lo-pro.

Aye a wee blast through town and a loop back to the big slope would be my shout.

    suggestions:

3.5 mi short route - back along Great Western Road map
    or
5.4 mi long route - back via Clydeside map

Don't worry about it, come along. I've been off the bike for 3-4 weeks and the weather will have kept almost everyone laying low, so we'll mostly be in the same boat. Room for everyone.

Also, I'll be leaving the east end @ 6pm after an appointment, but will aim to meet you at Big Slope, somewhere around 6:15pm, as it will probably take longer for the bigger crowd to amass. If you do get yourselves together and are well bored & chilly then rusty & a bunch of others have my number so give me a buzz and we can meet en route between there and town.

Going into work at 8 so good for a wee ride and maybe a pint after. Is the plan to return to big slope for a pint?

The plan is generally, meet at 6pm, ride first (about 6:30pm or so), then return to Big Slope afterwards.

I don't think i'll bother coming to fixed beer again. I went this week and it was such a hard, fast ride that the next day the end caps popped out of my front hub. As a result all my ball bearings fell out and i was left riding on a (squeaky) bare axle, with a lot of play in the steering.
