been looking on londonfgss.com a lot the last few days. there is always a bunch of sticky threads about north drinks, east drinks etc. would the prospect of a monthly (to begin with maybe more once the weather gets better) midweek city ride and a few beers after be of interest to any of you? has this been tried before and failed...
yeah id be up for it, especially once the weather gets better and im cycling to college more
I'm pretty new to this but would be up for a pint sometime.
yes. i'd attend.
(work permitting, of course)
what days would suit? for me a tuesday night is perfect as i have uni and football commitments most other nights.
anyday would be fine for me.
I'm good with any day. How about we look at Tuesday for now. How about next Tuesday for the first meeting. Tuesday 13th January.
What about a time? I'm good for any time really but would prefer something like 6:00pm because then I don't have to go home before coming along and it gives me a good reason to stay later at uni.
Aye Tuesday 13th is good for me. As are Tuesdays in general. Where?
what side of town is everyone on?
starting point? -
and most importantly pub? with loads of bike parking -
We had this brief discussion a while back Pubs & Cafes with "Parking".
[quote][cite] krakow:[/cite]We had this brief discussion a while back Pubs & Cafes with "Parking".
so we did, i suggested big slope cos it has a fence all round it but it may be a bit west for some.
tuesday the 13th is fine for me. as is any pub........i like pubs.........
Where is this Big Slope you speak of?
Seeing as its the first pub mentioned in the thread i suggest we go with it.
its here -
http://www.list.co.uk/place/100312-big-slope/
although the arrow on the map is misleading. its on the corner of argylle and kelvingrove street.
i have also seen a lemond filmore locked to the fence before. so is pretty bike friendly.
we could meet and set off from there and loop back to it for a quick drink or two. food is also immense here.
Thats no too west. I thought it was gonna be out past Anniesland Cross or something!
[quote][cite] rusty:[/cite]How about we meet at 6:00pm and then ride off just after (before 6:30pm) for about 30 minutes or an hour and then head back for food/drink at 7:00pm-7:30pm
sounds good. so Big Slope for 6ish then....
i'm a little excited about this. bikes, beer, food, talking about bikes.............woot!
i've also just realised this might encourage me to go disco dancing in the club scene at the buff later............
i read it as this-

then realised you where talking about the club off bath street.

i would have attempted it but i got some new cranks yesterday and im now on 48 x14 so i reckon it would have been a fair challange cycling into the wind...

i work that out at 90 gear inches or there about. surprised your running such a high ratio in glasgow with even the light hills here. you must have legs of steel. dont blame you for not going out in the high winds. hopefully the weather on tuesday is dry and clear for the gfgss drinks...
42/16 (about 72 GI) is what all the cool kids use.
