its in his interest to be. the stuff he's given away does not cost the earth but its good stuff and in return we all think gear is great and go along and spend a fortune on geting work done and parts. its def were i have been getting work done so its working.

Who knows that the prizes will be. There are some which go well with certain things (tyres with a skid comp) but most of them are pretty random. I thought a massive cog would be good for hill climb prize and a tiny cog would be good for sprints prize but I think we just got a normal sized cog.

My attendance is looking a bit ropey just now, too many jobs and not enough time for college work is messing with my life right now. I will do my best to be at the sprints and alleycat but don't be surprised if i don't make it.

if it's raining on sunday we'll skip the canal path section and just ride on dumbarton road (which is quicker anyway and still flat). Also I have a few friends (non fixed) who are coming along for the banter on sunday as well

I probably didn't announce it enough last night. Time penalty for not doing the challenge at the manned checkpoint will be 15minutes. You should be able to change an inner tube in 10minutes.

Thanks to a mix-up on dates I'm not going to be able to make the Friday night until late on, if at all, so will have to bow out for the sprints I'm afraid. Sorry about that. Still going to pootle about the Clockwork Orange.

It's all tarmac (or packed hardcore) up until bowling, if not Dumbarton. We could at least do the first section to Bowling for a nice easy social ride then play it by ear?

I've plotted the route for the alleycat here: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Clockwork-Orange-Alleycat-Route-public
This is the kind of default route following the main roads and staying road legal (one way system etc), on the night you can take any route you like. But this could make a good starting point for your plans and will show you a rough distance and elevation profile.
